DESCRIPTION:Local folk-punk musician and storyteller Shannon Murray hosts the January edition of Headwaters Open-mic CoffeeHouse. The CoffeeHouse\, held on the first Friday of most months\, runs from 7 to 10pm on Friday\, January 4 at Headwaters Music and Arts in Bemidji. Sign-up begins at 6:30.\n\n \n\n"First Friday Coffeehouse was the first place I performed for an attentive\, supportive audience\," Murray noted. "I was learning to play.  As a host\, I am looking forward to being part of creating that environment for other performers."\n\n \n\nHeadwaters Open-mic features music and spoken word performance in a family friendly environment. All ages and skill levels are encouraged to sign up for a 10 to 15 minute set. Performers and audience alike appreciate the welcoming tone and reasonable fee\, $3/person or $7/family. Good coffeehouse fare is provided by Cantabria Coffee Co. \n\n \n\nMurray has shared her music and message throughout the country.
