Join local fishing organizations to celebrate ice fishing! Learn tips and tricks, take the Fish ID Challenge, and explore the We Are Water MN exhibit. Enjoy kid’s casting activities, fish printing, macroinvertebrates, and mechanical fishing. Trout Unlimited, Take a Kid Fishing and other organizations will be on hand. One lucky winner will win a half-day guided ice fishing trip for a group that includes a couple up-and-coming ice fishing youth with Dick Beardsley, an area fishing guide. “The Two Ice Fishing Newbies” live feed will be broadcast to HSC, featuring our very own HSC Director Annie Butler Ricks and Beltrami Historical Society Director Gary Rozman, as they are introduced to ice fishing. Filleting demonstrations (of the fish they catch!) will occur at 3, 3:30, and 4 pm. This event is free to HSC members with special pricing for non-members during the event of $5/person or $15/family.
