Retail Loan Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY
This position serves primarily external customers; however, responsibilities also include serving internal customers whenever the opportunity presents itself.
This position does not involve direct day to day supervision of employees.
Confidentiality of customer information cannot be overstated. It is expected that all customer information be kept in the strictest confidence. We must do whatever it takes to ensure that our relationships with the public are not jeopardized.
The purpose of this position is to be the “first point of contact” for customers seeking retail lending assistance. This individual is also responsible for a variety of other duties that support all lending functions and activities in the Retail Loan Department, including loan maintenance and reporting.
SKILLS & ABILITIES

- Acquired experience with Windows-based applications and Microsoft Office products
- Ability to present oneself in a professional manner
- Ability to prioritize and manage workflow in a fast-paced work environment with frequent distractions
- Ability to have positive interactions with internal and external customers
- High degree of detail-orientation
- Answer incoming phone calls and customer inquiries, including making appointments, taking messages, and directing calls to appropriate officers
- Pull customer files, provide appropriate applications, and answer customer questions
- Process all supporting documents for loans such as UCCs, security agreements, insurance policies, etc.
- Photocopy and prepare loan processing forms for officers
- Sort mail and run debit/credit tickets for various transactions as necessary
- Input new loan information into system
- Enter debits/credits into general checkbook
- Oversee Tickler system for Retail lenders
- Gain a proficient knowledge of documentation requirements for consumer loans and ensure those documents are in the loan files
- Process paid notes; stamp and mail to customers
- Prepare NADA values as needed
- Assist in correspondence for consumer loan officers
- Checkback loan modifications and extensions
- Escrow disbursement for homeowners and flood insurance
- Quality control of all consumer denial/withdrawals
- Scanning checkback for consumer denial/withdrawal
- Compile fair lending worksheets and input data
- Prepare lien and grant forms
- Review and process Automobile Insurance Force Placed Coverage reports
- Process and maintain various reports
- Attend required staff meetings
- Follow security procedures
- Support a diverse and inclusive culture
- Abide by all policies, procedures, and expectations set forth in the Employee Manual or requested by management
